Although I would like to thank you for hosting me at ITV Wales Sharp End programme but want to express my deep disappointment with some comments of the guests of the studio. I mean “right wing movements and nasty nationalism” in Ukraine as well as that under the Budapest Memorandum Ukraine was meant to become a “buffer zone” between West and Russia.
{video}Ambassador of Ukraine in the UK Natalia Galibarenko comment on the Sharp End at ITV Wales discussion about Ukraine on January 30, 2017 ВИДЕО (для Фейсбука целый текст, для твиттера или картинкой или если много, то линк на нашу страничку с комментарием) Although I would like to thank you for hosting me at ITV Wales Sharp End programme but want to express my deep disappointment with some comments of the guests of the studio. I mean “right wing movements and nasty nationalism” in Ukraine as well as that under the Budapest Memorandum Ukraine was meant to become a “buffer zone” between West and Russia. If somebody considers a rise of patriotism in Ukraine and readiness of Ukrainians to die for their country fighting against Russian troops on Ukrainian soil as nationalism, it is then disgraceful and extremely embarrassing. I would also like you to remember that thousands of Ukrainians who have already given their lives in Eastern Ukraine did that not only for Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence, but also by defending the European values from the Russian authoritarianism. On the Budapest Memorandum, I simply call on the “expert” at least to read the document itself. He will then understand that Ukraine joined the Non-Proliferation Treaty as a non-nuclear state under conditions which granted security assurances by the five nuclear states. This condition was implemented in the Budapest Memorandum which Russia as a signatory has brutally violated. By the way, Russia did the same in relation to all the basic bilateral documents with Ukraine, including the treaty on friendship, cooperation and partnership. In conclusion, Ukraine’s Foreign Service will continue putting all its efforts to rebuff the Kremlin’s nasty propaganda which is being actively spread in the Western societies.{/video}
