As part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the United Kingdom, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha held a bilateral meeting with the UK Foreign Secretary, Yvette Cooper.
The parties reviewed the outcomes of the President’s important visit to the UK and discussed further steps to implement the agreements reached by our leaders. Particular attention was devoted to ongoing peace efforts and the role of the United Kingdom and Europe as a whole in advancing a just and lasting peace.
Andrii Sybiha briefed Foreign Secretary Cooper on the situation on the battlefield, Ukraine’s successful long-range strikes against military targets in Russia, and the achievements of Ukraine’s defence industry. The ministers also discussed the outcomes of Yvette Cooper’s recent visits to China and India and their significance for advancing peace efforts.
The parties coordinated further steps to increase pressure on the aggressor state. Ukraine highly appreciates the United Kingdom’s continued commitment to strengthening economic and sanctions pressure on the Russian regime.
Together, Ukraine and the United Kingdom are defending our shared values, strengthening European security, and working towards a just and lasting peace.
