On 3 July 2019 at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) the delegation of Ukraine informed the Member States about unlawful provision by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea of statutory and certification services to ships for their further registration under the Russian flag.

Moreover, the representative of Ukraine and delegations of 30 another IMO Member States, in particular Estonia, Finland, Germany, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, called on Russia to comply promptly with the order of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and to release the unlawfully seized Ukrainian naval vessels and the 24 Ukrainian servicemen.
