On November, 20-21, Oleksandra Shandra, managing director of the Euromaidan Press and coordinator of the LetMyPeopleGo initiative, and Nadiya Volkova, the lawyer at the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union, visited the United Kingdom.
Within the framework of the visit, they were accepted in the Foreign Office, held a round table at the Royal Institute for Foreign Relations Chatham House with the participation of representatives from all leading human rights organizations operating in the territory of the UK. O.Shandra was interviewed live at the Sky News TV channel.
A key element of the visit was a public event, organized in the UK Parliament by the Embassy of Ukraine in the UK and the British-Ukrainian Society named «Russia's hybrid warfare and Ukrainian political prisoners». The panelists were Oleksandra Shandra, Nadiya Volkova and UK MP Bob Seely.
The visit gave an opportunity to present detailed information about Ukrainian political prisoners who are held in Russia and are being used by the Russian authorities as an element of the hybrid war against Ukraine, including through continued practice of preserving a negative image of Ukraine in the Russian society.
