On January 27 Ukraine's Ambassador Natalia Galibarenko met with Minister of State at the Foreign Office for Europe David Lidington.
They discussed the situation in Eastern Ukraine and Crimea in the light of Russian aggression, cooperation between Ukraine and the UK, and political situation in Ukraine.
The sides stressed on the importance of full implementation of the Minsk Agreements as well as cessation of human rights violations on the occupied territories. In this regard Ambassador Galibarenko underlined that sanctions against Russia should remain in force. The counterparts agreed that the unity within the EU on that issue as well as in terms of supporting reforms in Ukraine should remain among top priorities.
Ambassador briefed the Minister about the progress that Ukraine has achieved in carrying out internal reforms, including those envisaged in the Minsk agreements.
The sides welcomed intensification of the political dialogue and agreed to maintain contacts on a constant basis.
