The Russian government established the so-called “Crimean Federal University” in breach of international and Ukrainian law in 2014, soon after the brutal annexation of Crimea with Russian boots on the ground, the Ambassador's letter states.

Natalia Galibarenko urged the IAP to withdraw its decision which can be interpreted as support of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Ambassador reminded that the UK Government had condemned Russian actions in Crimea as illegal and had repeatedly urged Russia to return it to Ukraine.
