On April 1, 2026, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Perebyinis held a meeting with Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom Stephen Doughty.

Yevhen Perebyinis expressed his gratitude to the United Kingdom for the financial and military assistance provided, as well as for its significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s energy resilience, including the allocation of £40 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund. He particularly emphasised the importance of further expanding cooperation in the supply of energy equipment.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further support for Ukraine in the defence sector, particularly in strengthening its air defence capabilities.

The counterparts discussed the development of Ukrainian - British partnership within the framework of the updated Strategic Dialogue, the first meeting of which took place on 17 March 2026 in London under the co-chairmanship of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Special attention was paid to the need to increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, primarily in the energy, financial, and defence-industrial sectors, as well as to coordinate further steps within international initiatives aimed at limiting the aggressor state resources for waging war against Ukraine.

For his part, Stephen Doughty assured of the United Kingdom’s unwavering support for Ukraine in countering Russian armed aggression and expressed the UK’s readiness to further deepen bilateral strategic partnership.
