Ukraine is restoring the truth about its history and cultural heritage

On 14 October, as part of the visit of the President of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, together with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, visited the Sacred Treasures from Kyiv exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. For the first time in the United Kingdom, seven unique artefacts from the collection of the National Preserve “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” are on display, introducing visitors to Ukrainian Baroque art of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Particular attention is drawn to the story of the 18th-century Royal Doors, whose true origins have been restored thanks to the work of Ukrainian experts. Restoring the authentic history of Ukraine’s cultural treasures is an important step in countering Russian imperial narratives, reclaiming historical justice and ensuring that Ukraine’s heritage is properly represented on the world cultural stage.
