Ambassador of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi held a meeting with the UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Yvette Cooper. The parties reaffirmed the strategic nature of our bilateral relations and the ongoing development of cooperation between our countries.

The discussion took place against the backdrop of Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. It provided an opportunity to share information about the challenges our country currently faces and to underscore the importance of international solidarity in ensuring the resilience of critical infrastructure. Support from our partners remains vital for Ukraine’s energy sector during this extremely difficult winter.

Particular attention was paid to the security situation, prospects for achieving a just peace between Ukraine and the Russian Federation, and further coordination with international allies to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities. We highly value the United Kingdom’s leadership in supporting our country.
