On September 11-12, 2017 Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Hanna Hopko visited the United Kingdom to take part in the 25th Anniversary Conference of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and conduct a range of bilateral meetings.
Hanna Hopko inaugurated the Conference along with members of the UK Government. She devoted her speech to reforms in Ukraine, Russian aggression, human rights violations in Crimea, and also expressed gratitude to the Westminster Foundation for Democracy for supporting the work of Ukrainian parliamentarians and fostering Ukraine-UK parliamentary cooperation.
Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee met with Minister of State for Europe and the Americas at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Alan Duncan, newly appointed Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the UK Parliament Tom Tugendhat, newly appointed Chair of All-Party Parliamentary Group on Ukraine in the UK Parliament John Whittingdale and other members of the Group, as well as experts of the The Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House).
