“35 persons are convicted, 152 are under the court trial and around 190 continue to be under prosecution as the result of investigation of crimes committed during the Revolution of Dignity in Ukraine” – stated Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko at his meeting with UK Foreign Office Political Director Tim Barrow.
In his first day of working visit to London Yuriy Lutsenko held meetings with the leadership and experts of Home Office, Foreign Office, HM Revenue and Customs, Crown Prosecution Service. The Prosecutor General of Ukraine informed the colleagues about the results of investigations of current criminal cases in Ukraine against high profile ex-state officials and people connected to them. Both sides also discussed the issues of enhancing bilateral legal cooperation including with regard to extradition and exchanged views on the reforms of law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine highly appreciates the assistance provided by the British side on reforming the office and hopes that it will continue”, - stressed the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
