On September 27 the states-participants of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) made a demarche in London in the FCO on the upcoming interim results of the criminal investigation, to be announced on September 28 in the Hague, into the downing of the Malaysian airlines flight MH17 over Ukraine in 2014.
States stressed the importance of this independent investigation. With the presentation by the JIT of the interim results, some key questions would be answered.
The criminal investigation needs the continuing support of the international community and the full cooperation of states that are in a position to assist with the investigation and prosecution of those responsible for this crime, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 2166 (2014).
The countries involved in the JIT continue to consider mechanisms to prosecute those responsible for the downing of MH17.
