On April 25, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom Natalia Galibarenko met Minister for Europe David Lidington.
Minister Lidington welcomed formation of a new Government in Ukraine and expressed the expectation for the continued path of internal reforms in our country.
The parties discussed preparation for the international Anti-Corruption Summit to be held in London on May 11-12, 2016 and the ambitious objectives laid out by its participants – heads of states and governments, leading international organizations as well as civil society.
They also exchanged their views on the implementation of the Minsk agreements and the political settlement of the situation in Donbas which has to be preceded by a constant ceasefire from the pro-Russian militants. In this regard Ambassador Galibarenko expressed the expectation of the Ukrainian side for a launch of the OSCE Special Police Mission capable to ensure security in the East of Ukraine.
Minister Lidington inquired about the perspectives of returning home of the illegally detained in Russia citizen of Ukraine Nadiya Savchenko.
The parties also discussed the program of Ukraine-British political contacts for the nearest time.
