The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry expresses its outrage over the Russian Investigative Committee's decision to extend the pretrial investigation into the case against Ukrainian military serviceperson and parliamentarian Nadia Savchenko for another half a year, that is, until November 13.
This decision is yet another sign of the lack of any evidence in support for the absurd and groundless accusations against Nadia.
Russian Federation repeatedly demonstrates its unwillingness to fulfil its obligations under the Minsk agreement, which stipulates "the release and exchange of all hostages and people held illegally based on the all-for-all principle".
Savchenko enjoys international immunity as a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Ukraine resolutely calls on the Russian Federation to free the Hero of Ukraine and other political hostages and ensure the full implementation of the obligations it undertook in Minsk.
