Ukraine Today presented to British audience
Ukrainian English-language news channel Ukraine Today presented at the Embassy to the Diplomatic Press Attachés Association of London (DPAAL) on December 10.
General Producer of Ukraine Today Tetiana Pushnova and the journalists Steve Brese and Tatiana Ogarkova introduced the aims and objectives of a newly formed English speaking TV channel.
According to Tetiana Pushnova, Ukraine Today is going to be a source of the objective information about the events in Ukraine, but not an instrument of propaganda. The channel focuses on European and international news and aims to turn into “a voice of new Europe, which stands for European values”, the head of Ukraine Today said.
Ukraine Today is available in the UK via Hotbird satellite. You can also watch the channel live from here on your Android та iOS device or via Smart TV app market. Expanding of coverage and audience of Ukraine Today is envisaged in the nearest future, including broadcast in the British cable network.
The event at the Embassy of Ukraine to the UK was attended by diplomats from more than 50 countries as well as journalists of BBC Panorama, BBC World Service, BBC Parliament, CNN, Reuters Embassy Magazine and others.
Ukraine Today is an international English-language news channel in Ukraine launched in August 2014. The channel is part of the 1+1 media group of companies and has Kyiv, Ukraine as a headquarter.
It provides 24hr coverage of Ukrainian, Eastern Europe and world news. The channel’s primary focus is on Ukrainian current affairs, with additional editorial focuses on EU expansion and integration, Russian relations with Europe and America, the defence of European values in both Ukraine and within the EU itself, and the challenges of nation-building in the 21st century.
