Visa requirements for foreigners entering Ukraine

 

Please make sure to take care of all details and formalities as regards keeping to rules on entry and stay in Ukraine to ensure a successful trip:

  1. Check whether you need a visa to enter Ukraine here.
  2. Check whether your passport meets validity requirements.

If you don’t need visa to travel to Ukraine your passport should be valid on the day you enter Ukraine.

If you require visa to travel to Ukraine your passport should be valid at least 3 months after the date of intended departure from Ukraine and be issued no more than 10 years ago.

 3.  Whether you need visa or not, make sure you have a proof of sufficient funds when entering Ukraine.

 

 For foreigners traveling to Ukraine the proof of sufficient funds is required

 Starting from 01 February 2014 Ukraine’s Border Guard Service officers may randomly ask foreigners entering Ukraine to demonstrate proof of sufficient funds when going through border control. Foreigners are required to have access to at least 20 days’ worth of average monthly per capita subsistence minimums to their arrival date + 5 days’ reserve.

The exact amount of money any foreigner should be able to prove to have access to when entering Ukraine is calculated according to the relevant Rules (full text is available at Ukraine’s Parliament website at http://zakon4.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/884-2013-%D0%BF in Ukrainian).

The overall daily amount in Ukrainian hryvnia rates at around £30.00.

Ukraine’s authorities accept the following as a proof of sufficient funds:

  • cash in Ukrainian hryvnia / other convertible currency
  • international pay system cards along with current/savings account balance statements provided the bank cards can be cashed in Ukrainian banks
  • hotel / accommodation booking
  • an agreement between travel agency and client
  • a letter from an inviting person/entity - sponsor confirming all expenses a foreigner might face in Ukraine and when leaving Ukraine will be covered 
  • a return / transit ticket

Please note!

No proof of funds is required for:

-  foreigners / stateless persons who permanently reside in Ukraine

-  foreigners / stateless persons under 18

-  tourists on a cruise

-  foreign aircrew/warship crew members entering/going through Ukraine’s territory in transit in lines with established regulations

-  non-military vessel crew personnel

-  non-military international airlines / international connection trains crew residing within airports or train stations facilities

-  heads of foreign states and governments, members of parliamentary or governmental delegations, technical staff following such delegations, as well as their family members, travelling to Ukraine upon invitation of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the Parliament), the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine or Ukraine’s ministries/other central executive authorities

-  UN and UN institutions ID holders and members of their families

-  Heads of foreign diplomatic and consular missions, their diplomatic, consular, administrative and technical staff, military attachés and trade missions staff as well as their dependants (spouses, children and parents) 

-  diplomatic and service passport holders employed at their countries’ foreign affairs authorities visiting Ukraine with official   purpose and members of their families

-  international organisations officials visiting Ukraine with official purpose, their offices/branches’ in Ukraine staff members, staff members of their states’ representatives to international organisations headquartered in Ukraine who are covered with diplomatic privileges and immunities as well as their families’ members

 

Rules on entry into and exit from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, Ukraine 

 

The Embassy of Ukraine to the United Kingdom calls on all foreign nationals/stateless persons who intend to visit Crimea to keep to the new Rules on entry into and exit from Crimea which have been approved by the Ukrainian Government on 04 June 2015.

The Rules were adopted according to the Laws of Ukraine “On protection of rights and freedoms of citizens and the law regime for the Temporarily Occupied Territory of Ukraine” and “On the Free Economic Zone “Crimea””.

The new Rules set the procedure on entry into and exit from Crimea and should be followed by all foreign nationals/stateless persons.

According to the Rules foreigners/stateless persons may enter and exit Crimea through special control check-points  (for automobile transport – Kalanchak, Chaplynka, Chongar; for a railway transport – Kherson, Melitopol, Vadym, Novooleksiivka) upon their passports and provided they have been issued with a special permit.

Special permits are only issued when:

1) a foreigner’s/stateless person’s family or close relatives reside in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine (relevant documents issued by competent authorities of Ukraine should be submitted);

2) a foreigner/stateless person intends to visit graves of his/her family or close relatives which are located in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine (relevant documents should be submitted);

3) in case of death of a member of a foreigner’s/stateless person’s family or death of a close relative who has resided in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine (relevant documents issued by competent authorities of Ukraine should be submitted);

4) a foreigner/stateless person has a property located in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine;

5) a foreigner/stateless person is participating in measures aimed to protect Ukraine’s national interests and the peaceful settlement of the conflict, liberation of the territory of Ukraine from occupation or for humanitarian reasons (upon consent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine);

6) a foreigner exercises diplomatic and consular functions, in particular in the frames of international organizations which Ukraine is a member of (upon consent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine);

7) a foreigner/stateless person is a railway employee and makes regular trips to the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine.

The abovementioned circumstances should be proved by the relevant documents and submitted along with the application.

Applications for special permits are to be submitted to the regional bodies of the State Migration Service of Ukraine at the applicant’s place of residence in Ukraine and are processed within 5 working days following the date of application.

To apply for a special permit a foreigner/stateless person should submit the following documents:

- an application;

- 3 photos (3.5*4.5 cm);

- passport (to be returned);

- a valid Ukrainian visa, temporary residence permit or other document allowing a foreigner/stateless person to stay in Ukraine;

- a copy of the 1st page of the foreigner’s/stateless person’s passport (the page with the holder’s personal data) with a certified translation into Ukrainian; 

- proof of circumstances of the applicant (copies of civil registry certificates, copies of the Ukrainian residence permit issued to foreigner’s family member or a close relative, documents proving the property rights, documents proving the death of a foreigner’s family member or a close relative, details on the graves location etc.);

- proof of sufficient financial funds for the intended period of stay in Ukraine or a letter of guarantee of the inviting party (except for those foreigners who are participating in measures aimed to protect Ukraine’s national interests, or exercise diplomatic and consular functions or those who are railway employees).

Special permits are granted to foreigners/stateless persons 18 and above. Data on minors is inscribed into the special permits of their parents.

Special permits are issued as a single or multiple entry documents depending on reasons for application and documents provided.

The State Migration Service leaves the right to refuse the application.

Please note! Ukrainian embassies and consulates are not authorised to accept applications for special permits or send them to the regional offices of the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

The Embassy of Ukraine to the United Kingdom urges all foreigners/stateless persons to strictly abide by Ukraine’s laws on entry into and exit from Crimea.

Violations of the Rules will lead to legal consequences and those responsible will face restrictions according to the Ukrainian legislation including the ban on entry into Ukraine.

General provisions (How, When and Where to Apply) 

Ukrainian visas are issued through online system "Visa".

As of 23 August 2016 all applicants are to register their visa applications online as well as book an appointment with the Consular Section through the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua.

On following the link please press the “Fill in the application” button.

You’ll need to select your current citizenship, the purpose of your trip to Ukraine, a country where you wish to apply for your visa as well as Ukraine’s consular office which will be processing your application (Ukraine has 2 consular offices in the UK, if you intend to apply through the Embassy in London please choose the “Embassy of Ukraine in the UK” option from the menu).

The website will then let you fill in the application form and book your appointment with us. Please make sure that you fill in all lines, upload your photo and save your application (i.e. complete your registration), as applications saved as drafts cannot be processed.

After you have completed your registration you’re welcome to call by the Consular Section on your chosen date and time.

Please have with you printed and signed application form, your passport, 2 photos and your supporting documents. You’ll be able to choose the type of service (regular or expedited) and pay the visa fee on the day of your visit.

Visa applications of children should be accompanied by the other parent / carer’s written and duly certified consent for the child’s visa and travel to Ukraine at all times unless both parents/carers and their children apply all together.

Please note that according to Ukraine’s visa rules foreigners / stateless persons can apply for their Ukrainian visa no earlier than 3 months before the intended date of entry to Ukraine.

All visa applications are processed by the Embassy’s Consular Section in 10 working days excluding the day of application (regular service) or 3 working days (expedited service).

Processing of visa applications submitted within regular service can be extended for up to 30 working days.

Please note that visa applicants are expected to provide the Consular Section with originals of documents proving the purpose of intended travel to Ukraine.

 

 

 

  Visa requirements for certain categories of visa applicants

Short-term visas 

Short-term visas are issued as single / double / multiple entry visas for 6 months or another period of time indicated in the documents which are considered as grounds for visa application. Ukrainian visas cannot be issued for more than a 5 year-term. 

All short-term visa applications should be submitted not earlier than 3 months before the intended travel to Ukraine.

Tourist visas

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • documents proving the tourist purpose of the trip to Ukraine (hotel/accommodation booking, programme of stay, information on the tour, its timeframes, tourist agency details, transfer details, sightseeing information etc.);
  • return flight tickets;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months).

Note: citizens of Australia, Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Bahrain, Guatemala, Grenada, Honduras, the Commonwealth of Dominica, India, Indonesia, Kuwait, Mauritius, Malaysia, Mexico, the Federated States of Micronesia, New Zealand, Oman, Palau, the People’s Republic of China, Peru, Qatar, Samoa, El Salvador, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Singapore, East Timor, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, the United Arab Emirates and Vanuatu  can be issued with a single entry (up to 15-days) tourist visas at Kyiv Boryspil or Zhuliany airport and Odessa airport upon the abovementioned documents. More information can be found here.

Visitor (general/friends) visas

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • an original of the notarized letter of invitation from a Ukrainian citizen or a foreigner/stateless person who legally resides (temporarily or permanently) in Ukraine. Invitation should  contain full name of an inviting person, details of his/her passport and temporary or permanent residency permit (for a foreigner or stateless person), address, and full name of the invited person, information about his/her date and place of birth, nationality, passport details, place of residence, purpose of visit, duration of intended visit to Ukraine, number of entries and place of stay in Ukraine, physical person’s obligations towards possible coverage of costs related to the applicant’s stay and/or departure from Ukraine;
  • copies of a hosting person’s Ukrainian passport (if an inviting person is a citizen of Ukraine) or copies of the foreigner’s/stateless person’s passport and their Ukrainian temporary/permanent residency permit (if an inviting person is a foreigner or a stateless person);
  • return flight tickets;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months).

Visitor (family member of a citizen of Ukraine) visas

  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months).

Visitor (business) visas

  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • an original of the letter of invitation from a legal person registered in Ukraine, presented on the official letterhead, containing indication of the number assigned in Ukraine’s Unified State Registry of Legal Entities, Individual Entrepreneurs and Citizens’ Associations, registration number, date and signature, full name of the invited person, information about his/her date and place of birth, nationality, passport details, place of residence, purpose of visit, duration of intended visit to Ukraine, number of entries and place of stay in Ukraine, legal person’s obligations towards possible costs related to the invited person’s stay and/or departure from Ukraine;
  • return flight tickets;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months).

  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months).

Official visitor visas (upon invitations of Ukraine's authorities or foreign states' authorities/international organizations) *

  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • a letter of invitation issued  by Ukraine’s ministries / other central executive authorities, state entities and organizations or relevant letters of foreign states’ authorities / international organizations;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage)**;
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (unless exempt from this requirement – please see the list of categories of applicants who are not required to submit proof of funds at the top of this page).

  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months).

Mass Media staff visas

  • a letter of the foreign Mass Media with a request to issue a visa to the foreign correspondent/Mass Media staff member who intends to travel to Ukraine in his/her professional capacity as a journalist;
  • flights booking;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months) or a letter from the employer confirming their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

Religious/Missionary visas

  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • a letter of invitation from religious organization in Ukraine for a short-term performance of missionary activities accompanied  by a letter issued by Ukraine’s Ministry for Culture / Department on Religious Matters of  the relevant regional or city state administration – depending which authority has registered that religious organization;
  • flight booking;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay or a letter from a sponsoring organization with confirmation on their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

  • flight booking;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months),

  • a passenger / cargo carriers’ contract
  • an international passenger / cargo carrier’s license;
  • return flight tickets;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months).

Ukrainian descent visas* 

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • certificate of a person of Ukrainian descent issued by Ukraine’s National Committee on persons of Ukrainian descent or applicant’s statement on his Ukrainian origin along with supporting documents. If applicant’s family applies for this type of visa as well documents on their status and family relation to the applicant should be provided;
  • flight booking;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent monts).

Official observer visas

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • an order of Ukraine’s Central Election Commission on registration of official observers from foreign states and international organizations for presidential elections, parliamentary elections, local elections and national referendums;
  • flight booking;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement for 2 recent months),

Long-term visas*

*Important note!

Long-term (type D) Ukrainian visas are issued as a multiple entry visas for 90 days(unless otherwise stipulated by legislation or international treaties of Ukraine) within which applicants are to enter Ukraine and apply to local offices of the State Migration Service of Ukraine for a  temporary residence permit.

 Study Visas

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • original of the letter of invitation issued by the relevant Ukrainian university;
  • original of the diploma of the previous graduation establishment and appendix with disciplines/marks apostilled and translated into Ukrainian;
  • proof of medical insurance covering Ukraine (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover education fees and stay in Ukraine (e.g. bank statement).

Work/Employment at Ukraine’s company/organization visas

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • a certified copy of the work permit issued by Ukraine’s State Centre for Employment (to be obtained by applicant’s employer in Ukraine in advance and sent to the applicant);
  • proof of medical insurance covering Ukraine  (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover stay in Ukraine (e.g. bank statement) or a letter from the employer confirming their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

Visas for work/employment at a foreign non-governmental organization (branch/office) registered in Ukraine

  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • original of the letter of invitation of the foreign non-governmental organization (branch / office) duly registered in Ukraine;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay in Ukraine (e.g. bank statement) or a letter from a sponsoring organization with confirmation on their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement) or a letter from a sponsoring organization with confirmation on their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement) or a letter from a sponsoring organization with confirmation on their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

International technical assistance visas*

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • a letter of invitation from Ukrainian state authority / entity / organization which is a recipient of international technical assistance;
  • a confirmation of registration of the relevant international technical assistance project at the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay or a letter from a sponsoring organization with confirmation on their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

*Zero visa fee.

 

Cultural / Educational / Scientific / Sport / Volunteer visas

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page)
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm)
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • letter of invitation from a relevant government agency responsible for implementation of cultural, educational, scientific, sport, or volunteering programs for participation in which a foreigner or stateless person arrives in Ukraine, or letter of invitation from an organization or institution that engages volunteers in their activity, information about which is placed on the official website of the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, accompanied by the copy of state registration certificate of this organization or institution;  
  • proof of medical insurance covering (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover applicant’s stay (e.g. bank statement) or a letter from a sponsoring organization with confirmation on their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

Religious/Missionary visas

  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • a letter of invitation from religious organization in Ukraine for a long-term performance of religious / missionary activities accompanied  by a letter issued by Ukraine’s state authority which has registered that religious organization;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay (e.g. bank statement) or a letter from a sponsoring organization with confirmation on their coverage of applicant’s expenses in Ukraine.

Visas for Diplomatic/Consular Missions and international organizations (offices) staff in Ukraine and members of their families*

  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • a relevant official letter / verbal note of a foreign state’s authority / diplomatic  mission / international organization (office).

Spouse visas

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page)
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm)
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • original of a Marriage Certificate on registration of marriage between a foreigner / stateless person and a citizen of Ukraine as well as its copy (the original shall be returned to the applicant upon examination);
  • a copy of the spouse’s passport of  citizen of Ukraine;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay in Ukraine.

Important note!

If marriage has been registered outside Ukraine marriage certificate should be apostilled (legalized) and translated into Ukrainian as well as duly certified.

Family reunion with foreigners / stateless persons residing in Ukraine

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • originals of documents proving that applicant is a family member of a foreigner / stateless person residing in Ukraine upon a temporary residence permit as well as their copies (originals of documents shall be returned to the applicant upon examination);
  • a copy of a temporary residence permit issued to a foreigner / stateless person residing in Ukraine;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds confirming that a foreigner / stateless person residing in Ukraine is able to cover the costs of stay of his / her family in Ukraine.

Important note!

If documents confirming family relations have been issued by foreign authorities they should be apostilled (legalized) and translated into Ukrainian as well as duly certified.

Immigration visas

  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • a copy of the immigration permit issued by a local office of Ukraine’s State Migration Service;
  • proof of medical insurance covering Ukraine  (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover applicant’s stay in Ukraine (e.g. bank statement).

Transit visas

Transit visas are issued as single / double / multiple entry visas for a period of time indicated in the documents which are considered as grounds for visa application.

Ukrainian transit visas cannot be issued for more than a 1 year-term. 

Every period of transit shouldn’t exceed 5 days.

 Transit visas are issued upon:

  • printed and signed application form (all applications should be registered at the website http://visa.mfa.gov.ua);
  • passport (and a copy of its 1st page);
  • 2 applicant’s photos (3,5 * 4,5 cm);
  • valid UK residence documents (permit to stay in the UK for more than 180 days per calendar year – if required) and its copy;
  • one of the following documents: 1) visa for another country (if required) and tickets, or 2) document confirming that passengers / cargo are to travel through Ukraine by car / coach in transit, or 3) international carrier license issued by the relevant UK authority;
  • proof of medical/travel insurance to cover Ukraine and the period of stay (the policy should provide 30 000 euros or equivalent minimum coverage);
  • proof of sufficient funds to cover the costs of stay in Ukraine.

Processing Fees

Embassy of Ukraine to the UK charges the following fees for visa processing, unless stated otherwise by Ukraine’s bilateral treaties:

1) Single entry visa: £52

2) Double-entry visa: £52

3) Multiple-entry visa: £52

Fees shown for regular service - applications are processed in 10 working days excluding the day of application.

Fees are doubled for all applications filed upon expedited service (applications are processed in 3 working days excluding the day of application).

Express service processing of a visa application can be offered upon a request of an applicant provided the expedited processing is possible.

Fees for certain types of visas for citizens of certain countries might differ from basic visa fees above due to reciprocity principle.

Fees are not refunded in case of a visa refusal.

These categories of applicants are issued with visas upon a zero fee:

  • children up to 6 y.o.
  • persons of Ukrainian descent upon a Certificate of a person of Ukrainian descent, as well as their spouse and children
  • persons travelling to Ukraine with official purpose and holding diplomatic/service passport
  • staff of foreign diplomatic missions / consulates to Ukraine and their family members
  • staff of international organisations, their branches / offices in Ukraine and their family members
  • staff of foreign states’ missions to international organisations headquartered in Ukraine who are covered with diplomatic privileges and immunities as well as their families’ members
  • heads of foreign official delegations, their accompanying staff visiting Ukraine upon an invitation of the President of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (the Parliament), the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine
  • Ukraine’s honorary consular officials
  • persons travelling to Ukraine in frames of an international technical assistance projects duly registered in Ukraine upon an invitation of state body / entity / organisation which is a recipient of this international technical assistance project
  • staff of foreign emergency / rescue authorities who enter Ukraine in order to aid with elimination of the aftermath of an emergency / accident upon an invitation of Ukraine’s Emergencies / Accidents Service
  • military personnel visiting Ukraine with official purpose upon invitation of the relevant ministry / other central executive authority
  • election observers delegated by foreign states and international organisations to observe presidential, parliamentary, local elections / national referendums upon lists provided to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Ukraine’s Central Election Committee

other persons visiting Ukraine in order to implement projects in foreign policy / humanitarian aid areas upon the invitation of the head of the relevant authority and confirmation of the Ministry of Finance.
